Carlton was a convincing debut winner as a 2yo before what looked to be a very exciting racing career, was cut short by injury.
He has some serious breeding, being by Dream Vacation out of a Love You mare Another Love, who is a full sister to the well performed, 15 win Enghien. Carlton's dam, Another Love, has done a great job with her first four foals all being winners. Dream Vacation of course being the sire of such greats as Stent, Leighton Hest, Boizel and Real Deal Yankee.
Carlton showed such immense talent that the decision to stand him at stud was made when his promising racing career ended so very prematurely. In successful trainer and owner Greg Hope's words - "Carlton had really high speed and was such a really good gaited horse - we have had a lot of nice colts over the years, but this was the first one we wanted to give a go at stud"
Having bred just 9 mares in his first year at stud, his first foals are correct and upstanding and are as Greg says "much like himself - he is a very good looking horse".
With his first starter, the 2yo Carla Pixie performing outstandingly, Carlton looks to have a bright future as a stallion.
